Basic Cake Decorating Class

Cake Decorating Basics

4 hours – break for lunch (lunch provided)
10:00am – 2:00 pm

In this beginning cake decorating class you will learn to

  • make icing
  • level, ice, and smooth a cake
  • color icing and fill pastry bags
  • learn star , dots, writing, shell border, drop flowers, and leaves decorating techniques


    Students will need to bring: 

  • 8″ or 9″ Cake (one layer or two) un-iced
  • 1 – 2lb bag of powder sugar
  • Hand Mixer if available
  • 3-4 Pastry Bags
  • 2- 3 Couplers
  • Tips: – 3, 21, 16 or 18, large closed star tip, 352
  • spatula
  • cups or bowls (to color icing)
  • dish towel, napkins, or paper towels
  • Apron (optional)
  • Pen & Paper
  • Cake leveler (optional)
  • Turntable (optional)


Children age 16 and up are welcome to attend this class
